About the Role:

Suzano is expanding its operations in the U.S. and is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team at the paper manufacturing facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. This role plays a key part in reviewing and implementing new tools for the quality management system, improving product quality acceptance levels, and reducing non-quality losses. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in problem-solving analysis tools, statistical analysis tools, process control management tools, and experience with SAP and advanced Excel. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvements in quality.

Responsibilities

What You’re Going to Do:

  • Quality System Management & Improvement:
  • Review, update, and implement new tools for the quality management system to enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and improve product acceptance levels.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to reduce non-quality losses and minimize waste.
  • Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
  • Utilize problem-solving analysis tools to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to monitor and improve product quality, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and support root cause analysis to address production quality issues.
  • Process Control & Monitoring:
  • Manage and improve process control tools and systems to ensure optimal production quality.
  • Use advanced tools such as SAP and Excel to track quality metrics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure operational processes meet the required quality standards and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

What We Expect from You:

  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, process control, or quality management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, process control tools, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving analysis tools, statistical analysis tools, and process control management.
  • Advanced skills in SAP and Microsoft Excel, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to drive improvements and manage challenges independently.
